This is KayLyn, Martell and LaRue's 5th child and 2nd daughter. I have been privileged to be here with them since Sunday. This past week has been difficult as we have seen Dad move quickly down the path to joining his family and friends on the other side of the veil. Dad has spent this last week as he has the rest of his life, with patience, calmness, and a total conviction in his testimony. There has been no complaining, only acceptance. He does not want to leave his family here, but is willing to accept what the Lord has planned for him with courage and love. We don't want him to leave us either, but we are trying to align our will with that of our Heavenly Father and come to the same place of acceptance. We are so very grateful for the thoughts, kind words, and prayers from all of his friends and family, thank you so much.
This morning he rallied a bit and expressed his desire to share his last words with all who would hear them. He was anxious that what he had to say would be shared and accepted my invitation to post them here.
"My last words are of the power of the Atonement of Christ and how He loves all the people in the world. ...Keep the faith... He loves you, and me, and everybody. That's the message..."

We don't know how much longer we will have Dad with us here on this earth, but we know the time is very short. He is anxious to have those who read this know that he has a testimony of this gospel and of the Savior and His redeeming Atonement. He wants it to make a difference in our lives and for us to gain our own testimony of these things.
Thank you, KayLyn, for the vigil you are keeping of these few days for Martel. No doubt this is a great comfort for him and your mother. I'm comforted too, in knowing that the family shares his testimony and witness to all that is good in God's love for even the least of us. May God bless you all more abundantly.
ReplyDeleteI had a thought to make this a phone call but then decided that Martel needed rest more than my voice. Please tell him that our prayers go out for him and the family.
President Gee has been an inspiration to me and many of my fellow missionaries that served under his direction. Few men are as good an example to others of Christ's love. We have always felt his love and been instructed by his commitment to the Gospel. Our prayers are with him, Sister Gee, and your family.
